TOPIC: Hand Sanitizer by Dibar Nutricional: Recall – Due to the Presence of Methanol (Wood Alcohol)

ISSUE: Dibar Nutricional S. de R.L. De C.V. (“Dibar”) is recalling all Dibar Labs Hand Sanitizer, ProtectoRx Hand Sanitizer and Advance Hand Sanitizer due to the presence of methanol.

BACKGROUND: These products are used as hand sanitizers and marketed to help decrease bacteria on the skin when soap and water are not available.

RECOMMENDATIONS: 

• Consumers, distributors and retailers that have the hand sanitizers which are being recalled should stop using, distributing and/or selling them and return them to the place of purchase.

• Consumers should contact their physician or healthcare provider if they have experienced any problems that may be related to taking or using this product.

Health professionals and consumers are encouraged to report adverse events or side effects related to the use of these products to the FDA’s MedWatch Safety Information and Adverse Event Reporting Program:
